I Hate Valentine’s Day

So it’s that time of the year again. &in case you didn’t notice the title of this post, I’m referring to Vday and not CNY. It’s that time of the year where I see couples surrounding me and I just feel like shooting them -.- I’m sorry, I’m just feeling bitter and envious, haha. Buttttt! I still remember what I did on Vday in 08 and 09 and I’m glad to say that at least I had a blast celebrating them with my friends 08 was going to my grand dad’s house to celebrate Vday and also cause they wanted ang paos hahaha tsktsk. 09 was Cedar Fiesta followed by Gift of Love followed by Charmaine’s parents’ pub. ^^ Twas awesome. Vday 09 (followed by ROE last year) also marked the beginning of what used to be, but oh well it’s all in the past.

Anyhoo, this year’s Vday will be spent with awesome goodies which will totally kill my throat, oranges, visitors, ang paos, family members (L), not so nice clothes (sigh), cards and money and of course, our annual there’s-nothing-to-do-and-no-more-visitors-so-lets-go-catch-a-movie with Sammoo! HAHA. What’s sad is that we’ve been watching romantic comedies the last two years, sinceour annual movie thing started. From 27 Dresses to Bride Wars and this year – I Hate Valentine’s Day. We have sad lifez, but we also have each other! HAHAHA. I also realised that most of my friends (95%) are single, while the rest of the world is getting attached. Booooo. K I should stop complaining and enjoy life now. I gotta admit, life has been treating me really well and I thank God for that

Also, I am really really happy cause today has been awesome. Today,

• was Joanna’s last lecture ):
• we had our last tutorial with Ms Janice, so
• we had a mini party with drinks paid by her. But,
• thanks to my awesome hearing,  I thought she was paying for food too so we ordered 3 pizzas from Pizza Hut and some sides
• Amount came up to $73 bucks, I’m so sorry T01! ):
• I had my first A ever since I entered poly. Last sem consisted of C+’s ALL THE FREAKING WAY.
• Quite a few of us got A/A+’s!
• Vic’s, Yve’s and my study plan failed miserably. Went to catch a movie instead – Tooth Fairy
• The movie was freaking hilarious! I laughed damn loud and realised the whole theatre could hear me only like 3 secs after I shut up.
• I met up with Wen, Xinya and Rongz for dinner! HK Cafe again but I don’t mind luh.
• We talked for 3 hours straight and left only at 11 when I thought it was 9.30! :/
• I had a nice chat with Xinya on the train ride home
• I received a damn sweet msg from Rongz saying she remembered our convo the last time and she asked if I felt left out cause they kept talking about JC stuff
• Told her I don’t mind cause it keeps me updated and it’s interesting ^^ And anyway,
• we spent more time gossiping/reminiscing than talking about JC stuff

Okay that’s all! I didn’t study at all the whole day! ): Am feeling reeeaaaally guilty! Hardly practised paino too ): Mati. Anyway the above is a damn good example of failing to write in point form. HAHA oooops.

Okie I think I’ve updated enough about my life. Off to watch Hai Pai now! BAIII. ^^

OB and Famres down, Stats and Lifespan left. Can’t wait for the holidays to come! I seriously need to start looking for a job man. Anyway, Famres was surprisingly nice to study. OB was just pure torture!

Anyhow, today was an absolutely awesome day spent with Yve and Vic, though our plan to watch a movie failed miserably. So instead, today saw us with Starbucks + Singapore River + Clarke Quay! Btw, watched Everybody’s Fine with Yve and Vic last week and the show was fantabulous! ^^ Its really touching and it teaches us a lot of things Oh oh and our surprise plan for Aisyah went well today teehee! Hope she likes the bagggg!

I AM FINALLY GOING SHOPPING TOMORROW EVERYBARDIIII. \m/ I HAVEN’T GONE SHOPPING SINCE DEC CAN YOU BELIEVE IT! ITS AN ACHIEVEMENT FOR ME OKAY! Hahaha I am so shopping deprived. I want a toga (top/dress), heels, (maybe) a cardigan, (maybe) a dress, ACCESSORIES and CNY CLOTHES. Haven’t shopped for any CNY clothes at all thanks to all the tests and the nice dresses sold online are all black ): Ohwell I CAN’T BLOODY WAIT! Plus it’ll be an awesome day spent with momsie! Hope I don’t burn a hole in her pocket/wallet :/ Anyhoo, these are some of the things I want hehehe!

Pizza Love.

Last week consisted of Research sysmposium/TGIFriday with the class on Friday and RML yesterday! Symposium went okay I suppose, the heels were killing us though and I realised that being a photographer isn’t easy AT ALL. Freaking tiring ttm and you break some social norms as well (which takes quite a lot of courage for me). Was kinda pissed cause apparently someone thought it was freaking easy and thought it was a very honourable job (like please?!) and also insulted Zee’s and my camera. Anyway even though he won’t be reading this, I just feel like I need to thank him so so so so so much for going to school to teach me what to do at 12pm even though his class only started at 2pm and also for lending me his zoom lens, 50mm lens, external flash and camera. I am deeply deeply grateful!!!!

TGIF was awesome as well, turnout was amazing. 13 people! ^^ Love t01 ttm ttc ttu ttg HAHAHA! Hope there’ll be more to come. WHERE IS OUR MARINA BARRAGE OUTINGGGGG! Anyway, Ash, SarahC, TK, Mabz left after TGIF and the rest of us walked to Istana Park to chillllz. Started with the classic TOD, I’ve never then SSM. Yknow what it always leads to so I shan’t elaborate. Was hilarious though haha!

Saturday’s mass/homily was fun, and it meant quite a lot to me. Was planning to go for mass alone since the rest had BOW, so I went upstairs and I think Rachel and I were equally shocked to see each other, haha. Sat beside her in the end and we ended up talking quite alot (We still paid attention) ^^ Cheers to good old times. I’ve missed you way too much, babe (: H1 and gang sat beside me HAHAHA and Rachel was damn high (Stop umchio-ing, Rach). The good view was gone when a family sat in between H1 and us. HAHA oh wellz. Homily was good (: Quotes Father Andrew, “Love is not an emotion. It is a decision.” The word ‘love’ has been used too often, so much so that it has lost its real meaning. Even when you like something very much you still use the word ‘love’. For example, ‘I love pizza’. &yes, that’s how pizza love came about. Saying you love someone means that you genuinely care for the person and will always be there for that person. Not because you can gain something from that relationship, but because you genuinely want to get to know that person better and be there for that person. Father Andrew said something damn funny. The next time someone looks into your eyes and tells you “I love you”, look back into their eyes and ask, “Is it pizza love?” HAHAHAHA anti-climax or what hahahahaha. Anyhow, what Jude said during BOW also made a lot of sense. I know it and understand it very well, but yet putting it into action proves to be very very difficult. To love someone – anyone, regardless, is not easy. People judge every single time. Even within 1 second, a judgement is being made on someone we don’t even know. &because of that, we treat certain people in a certain way. It’s not easy to be nice when the other party doesn’t appreciate it or even worse, puts you down even more. It’s not easy to love someone when everyone else shuns that person. It’s not easy to love someone when that person is different from everyone else.

It’s not easy, but we all have to try. Just by treating them with respect, with love, with kindness and without judgement, I’m sure that it’ll make a difference in their lives.

I haven’t touched my laptop for 3 days besides using it to send the SPSS data file to Helen. OB has been overcrowding my brain and now it is dyingggg. Gotta get my all notes done tmr so that I’ll be able to study as and when I can from Friday to Sunday. Then again, I think OB has been shifted to 3 Feb so hurray! More time to study (that also explains why I’m here)!

Symposium and RML coming up, am quite excited yet kinda scared? Volunteered to be the photographer and I am kinda regretting it now. Formal wear plus all the camera stuff just doesn’t work, yknowwww? Feet are gonna be damn sore and now my hands are gonna ache too ): I’m really scared of screwing it all up too. I know almost nothing about event photography :/ But if I don’t try then I won’t know right? Sighyaiyai what have I gotten myself into.

Okay I should really stop complaining now, huh? Anyway, I really really love the lyrics of “Live Like We’re Dying” by The Script! A part of it goes:

This Sat will be my third consecutive week at Ice Kimo :/ Maybe I should go starbucks after that, or before session. Hmmm, I think I have too much caffeine and calories in my body. Way more than I’d like, anyway. Prischelle and I had a talk with Jude last Sat and it has made me reconsider my decisions. Haha, that is all I will mention.

Anyway, next week is white space! Meaning there are no tuts or lectures. However, Tuesday and Thursday will be taken up by rehearsals for research symposium, then Friday by the actual thing itself. So in between, I’m gonna chiong for OB, train for RML and watch Hai Pai Tian Xin. Am gonna be at Starbucks studying, so any free soul out there pls feel free to pop by/join me! Maybe I shall go for weekday mass too. Hmmm.

Crimson Red.

Today saw me giving green tea soy latte a chance at Starbucks. HAHA. It wasn’t too bad I guess, just that its an acquired taste. Was supposed to go home to practise piano but I wasn’t in the mood to, so yep. It’s been quite long since I went to Starbucks alone. Was super peaceful cept that I got emo after awhile. Oh well. Starbucks holds so many memories for me. & most of the people who are part of those memories are those who I no longer talk to now. Its sad, huh? I’ve lost quite a few friendships in just 5 short months. On the bright side, though, I’ve made new and amazing friends as well.

Anyhoo, I just realised that I haven’t gotten a single A for any test, project or essay this Sem. Depressing much? Ahhhh, fighting!!! Shall make up for it using the exams.

Btw, I wanna work and save up for my very own DSLR! & I’m gonna take daaamn good care of it. Don’t think I’ll be able to get it anytime soon though, even if I work my life away during sem break. &I think my English is going down the drainnnn. Especially my vocab, its like stagnant! ): Time to readddd.

K this is quite a pointless post. Was actually planning to type an emo post, but decided against it. Alrightey then, shall go have dinnerrrrr.

Anyway, celebrated Constance’s birthday last Thursday with Sam and waffle! ^^ We got her topshop underwear, a purse and a headband! Dinner at PS. Cafe with quite good food nd good company (even the waiter). Felt kinda young, but waffle was more high and enthu than Sam, Constance and I put together so yes, maybe I don’t feel that young afterall. Haha! K gotta get started on OB. BAIIIII!
